Why I Built “Where I Worked Today” and What’s Next

Our First App

Practical, simple and solving a real problem.

When hybrid work became the new normal, I noticed something small but surprisingly annoying. We all had systems for planning our days in the office, but not for remembering where we actually worked. Between work-from-home days, office days, and public holidays, even a simple attendance pattern could blur after a few weeks. Oh, and don’t get me started on shared spreadsheets.

That’s what led to Where I Worked Today, a straightforward iOS app designed to make tracking your work locations quick, private, and personal. No sign-ins, no shared data. Just your own record at a glance.

The first version launched quietly in Australia and has already picked up great early feedback, including a few feature ideas that made perfect sense. The first update (v1.0.1) rolled out quickly with a smoother date picker and subtle haptic feedback when logging attendance.

And now, based on that feedback, a new update (v1.0.2, coming soon) will add support for non-work days, along with a few other small improvements we’re sure users will find useful. All while keeping the app as simple and clean as ever.

It’s been a fun little journey so far and a reminder that even simple apps can solve real problems when they’re built with care.

Where I Worked Today is available now on the App Store for a one-time $1.99 — a small, practical productivity boost.
